Former Supervisor Gordon Mar tweeted today about political donations made by “Die Slow Tan.” Presumably, he is referring not to a villain from a long-forgotten Shaw Brothers film but to the drunk-tweeting, aspiring city father, Garry Tan, who made quite the spectacle of himself this week.
It wasn’t long ago that the San Francisco Labor Council, through its political arm Labor Neighbor, spent a little more than that to keep Mar in office.
They spent around $260,000 during the 2022 Board of Supervisors election on independent expenditures to boost Mar and slam his opponent, Joel Engardio. For context, the Mar and Engardio campaigns each spent roughly $250,000.
